  • “Infusion” or “infusion therapy” refers to the delivery of medications directly into the veins of a patient, also known as intravenous or IV administration. Sometimes, infusion medications are referred to as “injectables,” and they are lumped into the category that includes provider-supervised intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous injections. (Sub-Q/SQ). Intravenous Infusion or injectable methods of drug delivery are typically used when oral/pill medications are insufficient, inappropriate, or unavailable. Many of these newest medications are Biologic (made or derived from living cells) and cannot be taken orally like a pill because they will not remain effective after exposure to the digestive system.

LUX Infusion medications are prepared at the time of treatment by a highly trained infusion nurse. If the medication is intravenous (IV) it will likely be prepared and added to an appropriately sized bag of sterile solution (IV Fluids) which is then administered intravenously through an IV catheter placed by the registered nurse. Some IV and injectable medications come in pre-prepared forms that may not require as much advanced preparation.

  • An infusion center is a multi-specialty clinic where infusion/injectable medications are routinely administered under the supervision of a healthcare provider (Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, etc.)

    • They are generally more accessible geographically than hospital sites of care

    • They are more affordable and efficient than hospitals and many other alternative sites of care

    • They have a more controlled environment and are often more patient friendly due to their entire focus on infusion/injectable medication administration.

    Accessibility

Hospitals commonly have long wait-times and a confusing navigation process. Receiving a medical infusion/injection in a hospital will typically take longer than the same infusion in an Infusion Center. Many patients find it difficult to get their medical infusions in the hospital and value the accessibility of their local Infusion Center.

    Affordability

Receiving IV medication in a hospital is typically and exponentially more expensive for payers than receiving the same medication in an Infusion Center.

    Safety and Patient Experience

At a hospital, a patient may have a different nurse for each medical infusion treatment. Alternatively, LUX Infusion has a small, 100 % dedicated team trained specifically to provide Infusions/Injections. Patients have reported developing deep relationships with their team at Infusion centers and a more compassionate patient experience as a result.

  • LUX infusion focuses exclusively on infusions and injections and offers a rare combination of clinical excellence and luxurious settings. Our specialized care team of physician, nurse practitioners, certified Infusion nurses and patient navigators are experts in guiding you through the complexities of Infusion therapies both clinically and financially. Our centers offer semi-private or fully private infusion suites rather than a single open infusion area.

Going to LUX Infusion is convenient, you no longer need to hassle with parking and navigating through hospital buildings/clinics to get to your infusion suite. Pull right up to our door, grab a healthy snack and we will meet you in your infusion area!

Experience LUX Infusion without the high cost of infusion treatment provided at hospitals. LUX Infusion works closely with insurance companies to reduce costs relating to your infusion and injection therapies.

  • Our LUX infusion team is 100% committed to medical Infusion treatment and supporting our patients through the complexities of co-pay assistance, as well as various financial assistance programs that are available. Our Patient Navigators are dedicated to helping each patient obtain the maximum benefit from these programs.

  • You do not have to switch providers. Our LUX Team will work directly with your provider to support a seamless transition to LUX Infusion centers. We simply act as an extension of your physician’s care, by focusing on delivering therapies that require medical nfusion or injections.

Our Team is dedicated to providing the best infusion services to our community. We see ourselves as an extension of your provider, which allows your doctor to not worry about the payment authorization process of your treatment so that they are able to focus on what matters the most-your care!

  • The infusion that your provider has prescribed has a set infusion time and observation time. Our patient navigator will be in contact prior to your medical infusion to discuss your length of therapy and required pre-medications or observational time post-treatment.

  • Yes! Our Infusion Suites are all semi-private and fully-private areas, which are large enough to allow guests to accompany you during your treatment. We recommend to have someone drive you to your first few appointments until you know how you are going to tolerate the treatment. Your guests are always welcome to wait in our “spa-like” waiting area and enjoy a healthy-snack too!

  • Yes! We understand our patients have busy schedules and we are here to help. We have Saturday medical infusions as an option to help.

  • We want you to have a comfortable experience so we recommend a short sleeve shirt so our nurses can choose the best site to start your IV. We recommend avoiding sleeves that are too tight if pulled up, which may restrict blood flow. If you have a central line, like an implanted port, you will want to wear a button-down shirt or v-neck shirt, so our nurses are able to easily access. We invite you to enjoy our heated/massage chairs and warm blankets to help keep you comfortable during the infusion.

  • Our Infusion Patient Navigator will be in contact with you prior to your appointment to confirm when you should take your pre-medications.

  • Once your mediccal infusion treatment is complete, you may be asked to stay for a short observation period to make sure you feel OK. Your nurse will discuss any potential side effects, tell you what to expect at home, and will help identify a plan if you are to have any side effects or urgent questions regarding your infusion.
